This Privacy Collection Notice

Sip Ventures Pty Ltd (ABN 24 676 599 483) owns and operates the application known as “Rallie” (Rallie). Sip Ventures Pty Ltd is a subsidiary of Asahi Holdings (Australia) Pty Ltd (ABN 48 135 315 767) (‘we’, ‘us’, or ‘our’).

When you:

  • use Rallie, which includes when individuals register or use an account or are invited to a Rallie (Rallie User); or

  • otherwise contact or communicate with us,

you will likely provide us with your personal information. 

We take your privacy seriously, and this collection notice provides some important information about how we will collect and handle your personal information. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

What personal information will be collected?

Personal information generally includes information or an opinion about an individual who is reasonably identifiable. The type of personal information we collect about you will ultimately depend on the nature of our relationship with you.  

Generally, if you are a Rallie User, we’ll collect: 

  • your name and contact details (such as your email address and phone number);

  • your age and gender;your login details for Rallie and details of your use of, or access to, Rallie; 

  • any content you post, or that is posted about you, on Rallie, which may include details of Rallies, such as addresses and reasons for the Rallie, audio, videos (including audio) and images;

  • data about your interactions on Rallie, for example who your contacts are and which Rallies you interact with;location information if this is available from check ins, tagged addresses for Rallies, photos, or your IP address;

  • details of any communications we have with you, including but not limited to, any information you’ve provided when contacting us with a question, complaint, or enquiry; and

  • information about the mobile device and the version of operating system you’re using.

If you otherwise contact or communicate with us, we’ll generally collect the personal information you provide to us, and any other personal information that’s collected when we manage or facilitate our interactions with you.

We will not typically seek to collect any sensitive information (which is personal information about a person’s race, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, health, political views, or religious beliefs), however we may do so if you choose to disclose it to us – for example, if it’s contained within any content you post.

What it means if you don’t provide your personal information to us

It’s up to you as to whether or not you choose to provide us with your personal information. However, if you choose not to provide your personal information, please note that:

  • you will be unable to register for or use Rallie; or

  • we may be unable to process, manage and respond to your contact or communications with us.

Why we are collecting your personal information

We’re collecting your personal information for the primary purpose of:

  • if you are a Rallie User, enabling you to access and use Rallie; or

  • if you otherwise contact or communicate with us, to manage and facilitate our interactions with you. 

We may also use and disclose your personal information for other related purposes such as:

  • completing your Rallie sign-up or login;

  • organising and communicating about Rallies; 

  • responding to your queries or complaints or otherwise communicating with you, reaching out about your account, or sending you updates and notifications;

  • allowing our contractors, advisers and Related Bodies Corporate (as defined in the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth)) to provide the services that are necessary for us to manage our business and operations; 

  • sharing your information with our Related Bodies Corporate in order to maintain, improve or personalise our products, services or offerings;

  • data analysis or troubleshooting;

  • analysing cookies and other technologies;

  • ensuring compliance with our Terms of Use;

  • analysing usage data, including location and GPS data, to understand location preferences; 

  • provide insights and measurement reports that help businesses and other partners better understand the audiences with whom they may want to connect; and

  • performing analytics to understand and improve Rallie from the usage data and user choices, such as on how you interact with Rallie, including the content you view, the features you use, your engagement with posts (e.g., likes, comments, shares), and your navigation within the app.

Personal information will only be used or disclosed for purposes beyond those listed in this section if we are required or permitted to do so by relevant laws, or have obtained your consent to do so (e.g. by email, by your continued use of Rallie, or by specific notice).

Keeping your information safe is really important to us!      

We will generally only use and disclose your personal information for the purposes you have shared it for, or other related purposes where you have provided your consent, or if you might reasonably expect us to do so, such as:

  • completing your Rallie sign-up or login;

  • organising and communicating about Rallies; 

  • responding to your queries or complaints or sending you updates and notifications; 

  • allowing our contractors and advisers to provide the services that are necessary for us to manage our business and operations; 

  • ensuring compliance with our Terms of Use; and 

  • analytics to understand and improve Rallie from the usage data and user choices, such as how you interact with Rallie, including the content you view, the features you use, your engagement with posts (e.g., likes, comments, shares), and your navigation within the app. 

Generally, your personal information is only shared with other Rallie Users if you have invited that Rallie User, or have accepted an invitation from that Rallie User, to attend a Rallie. 

Personal information will only ever be used or disclosed for purposes beyond those listed in this section if we are required or permitted to do so by relevant laws.

Who we might disclose your personal information to

To fulfil the purposes described above, we may disclose your personal information to:

  • our trusted contractors and service providers who help us operate Rallie, including AWS, Segment, MixPanel and Mux; and

  • our related entities (e.g. parent companies, sister companies) and shareholders.

Some of these entities will be located overseas, including in the EU, NZ and the USA (but these locations may change from time to time).

We will take reasonable steps to ensure that all recipients of your personal information abide by the Privacy Act and the Australian Privacy Principles.
